Allow players to harvest parts from slain foes and then mutate themselves to unlock the abilities of monsters as permanent upgrades.

Crafting and Professions

Homebrew Crafting rules. Players can spend their downtime and well-earned gold between adventures training a profession and making consumables and equipment at half price than they would obtain them from a shop. An experienced adventurer can also gain income from their profession
Alchemists make potions and temporary weapon buffs. Huntsmen, Blacksmiths and Tinkerers craft and modify weapons, armor and firearms. Enchanters add magical enchantments to items. Performers can risk their long rests' recovery to give party-wide buffs. Cooks can make meals that provide random bonuses to the party on every long rest.

Large Scale Warfare

Inspired by the Unearthed Arcana: Mass combat and the combat system of the Fire Emblem games.
Custom ruleset for combat between large armies. Combine NPCs into squads. Set a Player as the commander that commands NPC squads or allow players to join a squads as Heroes and gain a boost to all of their actions from the other members of the squad. 
Add various victory conditions to complete the combat encounter.
